We have an opportunity for an Admiral Nurse position at our nursing home. The Admiral Nurse will lead, deliver, and coordinate relationship-centred dementia care within operational areas of Nazareth House Manchester, to improve the experience of carers and families affected by dementia with complex needs.
In line with the Admiral Nurse Competency framework at an enhanced specialist level, the post holder will provide:
* Specialist bio-psychosocial assessment and support for residents/people with dementia and families with complex needs
* Facilitation of education and training for staff in the delivery of evidence-based dementia care across the care home setting
* Clinical leadership with policy development and quality improvements in relation to dementia care across the care home setting
* Consultancy to other health and social care professionals regarding dementia
The post holder must be able to work effectively in a care home setting. Responsibilities include seeing carers and families individually, running groups, providing education and training, and managing a proxy-clinical caseload, while developing and maintaining a new service.

About You
We seek an exceptionally skilled Registered Nurse (adult/mental health/learning disability) with a passion for and a proven track record in providing person-centred and relationship-centred dementia care, advocating for this client group, and promoting equalities. You should have extensive knowledge of bio-psychosocial interventions to enhance the quality of life for families affected by dementia.
You should have significant post-registration clinical experience supporting people with dementia and their families. Ability to demonstrate the 6 Admiral Nurse competencies—person-centred care, therapeutic skills, triadic relationship working, knowledge sharing, delivering best practice, and reflective practice—is essential.
Skills for clinical leadership include strong communication, facilitation, influencing change, decision-making, advocacy, expert clinical practice, and proficiency with IT tools such as MS Office to ensure efficient service delivery.
This is a full-time position; reduced hours can be considered.
