Purpose of the role
As a Senior Social Worker, you will provide practical and social work support for children, young people, and families, managing a complex caseload with a focus on safety and empowerment. Your work will include assessments, interventions, and direct interactions based on evidence and best practices, prioritising the best interests of the children and young people in your care.
What you will do
* Hold and manage a more complex caseload, ensuring appropriate responsibility in line with your knowledge and skills.
* Engage directly with children, young people, and families to prioritise safety and collaborative problem‑solving using Signs of Safety methodology.
* Conduct thorough family assessments, focusing on social need, parental capacity, and potential for change.
* Identify indicators of harm, including potential risks such as sexual exploitation, abuse, and neglect.
* Utilise reflective supervision and research to maintain professional standards and seek guidance from experts as needed.
Requirements of the Senior Social Worker
* Registration with Social Work England.
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
* Recent or current UK experience as a Senior Social Worker or Social Worker.
* Experience in the Children with Disabilities sector is preferred.
