Control Systems/Automation Engineer
Yolk Recruitment is working exclusively with a newly-established manufacturer that has experienced sustained growth over the past 2-3 years, with continued investment and new business. They are now looking to recruit a Control Systems/Automation Engineer.
Our client has established itself as a leader in automation within their industry, committed to improving productivity and streamlining operations for their clients.
They work with several well-known clients in the FMCG/Food and Drink industry. It is an exciting time to join as they help their clients move towards Industry 4.0.

This is what you'll be doing
You will liaise directly with clients to define project scope and take ownership from concept through design, process development, and final installation.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong background in control systems, automation, and client-facing project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Liaise directly with clients to gather technical requirements and define project scope
* Develop and implement control system architecture using PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems
* Produce electrical and control system design documentation
* Coordinate with mechanical and electrical teams for seamless integration
* Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets from concept to commissioning
* Conduct on-site installations and support commissioning activities
* Provide technical support and troubleshooting during and after project delivery
* Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
The Experience you'll bring to the team
* A minimum of NVQ Level 3/HNC/HND or Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, or similar)
* Experience designing and commissioning automation systems in process or manufacturing environments
* Strong hands-on knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi)
* Familiar with industrial communication protocols: Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, Ethernet, DH+
* Confident working on live systems and integrating into existing infrastructure
* Understanding of robotics programming (KUKA, ABB, Universal Robots)
* Knowledge of P&IDs, loop tuning, and interpreting electrical schematics
* Willingness to travel and work on client sites as required
