SEN Teaching Assistant Bournemouth, Dorset

Prospero Teaching are proud to be working with an Outstanding Ofsted-rated SEN school based in Bournemouth, who are seeking dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team from September 2025 or sooner
This specialist provision supports young people aged 2-19 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and other complex needs. The school promotes a therapeutic, inclusive, and vocationally rich approach, delivering highly personalised support either in small groups or on a 1:1 basis.
About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting pupils, teachers, and the wider school community. This is a rewarding and varied position offering the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people.

3. Residential care
4. Supporting personal care needs
5. Using PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System)
6. Using Makaton
7. Manual handling and de-escalation strategies
Contract Details:
8. Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
9. Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
10. Start Date: ASAP / January 2025
11. Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
12. Working Hours: 8:30am 4:00pm (Monday to Friday, hours per week)
13. Pay Rate: per day (depending on experience)
Requirements:
14. Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (preferred)
15. Minimum 1 year of experience working with children or young people
16. GCSEs in English and Maths
17. Up-to-date Safeguarding Training (within the last year)
18. Right to Work in the UK
19. Enhanced Child DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply)
20. Two professional, child-related references
