Reporting to: Aquatic Business Development Manager
Responsible for: Swimming Teachers level 1 to 3, MA Swim and Pool Helpers
Scope
Coventry Sports Foundation and Culture Coventry Trust are operating as CV Life, so that the scope of this Job Description as a CV Life document extends to cover the employment contracts held with either Coventry Sports Foundation or Culture Coventry Trust.
Overall purpose and objective of the role
The overall operational co-ordination and administration of the CV Life Aquarius and the Education learn to swim programmes that are delivered across all of CV Life’s portfolio of aquatic facilities. The role will include the motivation, communication, observation and development of a team of swimming teachers to ensure that the swimming programmes are delivered as high quality products and demonstrate value for money.
Main duties of the role:
* To be accountable for the day-to-day co-ordination and operation of the Aquarius Swimming programme at all CV Life facilities.
* To coordinate the on-going training and continued professional development of CV Life’s team of swimming teachers.
* To manage all aspects of timesheet collection and submission for payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness; coordinate HR-related documentation for swim team staff, including return-to-work forms and annual leave requests, while ensuring compliance with relevant employment policies and procedures.
* To consistently review the number of swimming teachers to ensure that the Aquarius swim programme is suitably resourced, and to inform and support the process of recruiting new swimming teachers.
* To work with the Aquatic Business Development Manager to ensure that the Aquarius learn to swim programme achieves a quality accreditation from an external framework to demonstrate the quality of the programme, and thereafter to work to continually improve the standards and quality of the programme, ensuring levels of retention are improved.
* To contribute to the maintenance of regular Key Performance Indicators in relation to aquatic activity.
* To understand the financial performance of the Aquarius swim programme and work with the Aquatic Business Development Manager to identify, action plan and make positive changes to continue to grow the programme.
* To work with the Aquatic Business Development Manager to set accurate annual budgets for the Aquarius Swimming Programme and the Education Swimming Programme.
* To implement all relevant aspects of legislation in relation to the swimming programmes including the completion of risk assessments and the implementation of safe systems of work.
* To respond to public enquires/comments regarding the Aquarius swimming programme in line with the corporate policy for responding to customer feedback.
* To manage the Aquarius awards scheme and resale goods associated to the programme, meeting financial targets in relation to secondary spend and controlling and managing levels of stock.
* To lead the regular scheduled meetings with swimming teachers, setting agendas and recording accurate minutes, and attend any other meeting that are required as part of the role.
* To support the development of the schools assessment criteria in line with the school the curriculum requirements.
* To support the Aquatic Business Development manager to develop the Aquarius annual marketing and communication plan, in order to offer an active social media presence and website content updates with regular programmed campaigns.
* To work flexibly and be a point of contact for Aquarius customers at CV Life facilities to ensure an excellent customer journey.
* To organise/attend special events to market the Aquarius swim programme.

* Experience of planning and delivering Swimming Lessons as a volunteer or in paid employment in either a school, club or community setting.
* Good understanding of Safeguarding, Health and Safety, swimming equity principles, policies and procedures.
* Experience of monitoring/evaluation of Swimming Lessons.
* Knowledge of relevant National Governing Body programmes, policies and procedures.
* Relevant knowledge and experience of Swimming Development, including School and Club development.
* At least ASA/STA Level 2 Aquatic Teaching Qualification.
* Ability to understand and interrupt financial management information and Key Performance Indicators.
* Experience of using Microsoft Office packages.
* Good numeracy and literacy skills.
* Ability to plan and implement schemes of work.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety issues surrounding Swimming Activities and facilities.
* Excellent Organisational, planning and administration skills.
* Excellent leadership skills.
* Ability to adapt sessions appropriately dependant on the needs of the group.
* Ability to work to deadlines & complete accurate data.
Special Circumstances
* This role requires Enhanced DBS clearance.
* This role includes working unsociable hours including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
* Ability to travel between sites.
* Interest in working with underrepresented and disadvantaged community groups/individuals.
