Job Summary
NWMS are looking for a hands-on IT Support Engineer to provide day-to-day technical support across our industrial and office environments. You'll be responsible for keeping our systems, devices and users running smoothly, with a strong focus on desktop support, infrastructure maintenance, and problem solving.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide desktop and user support for Windows domain-joined devices.
* Manager user accounts, groups, and permission within Active Directory.
* Maintain and troubleshoot Hyper-V virtual environments.
* Support and maintain desktop support tools (remote access, deployment, patching etc.).
* Install, configure, and troubleshoot printers, peripherals, and CAT5 cabling.
* Ensure IT infrastructure is operational in both office and industrial/production environments.
* Assist with hardware and software rollouts, upgrades, and patch management.
* Monitor system performance and respond to incidents in a timely manner.
* Document issues, fixes, and processes to support continuous improvement.
Skills
* Proven experience in IT desktop/support role.
* Strong knowledge of Windows desktop environments and domain support.
* Good working knowledge of Active Directory administration.
* Practical experience with Hyper-V.
* Familiarity with IT support tools (remote desktop, imaging, ticketing systems).
* Understanding of network cabling (CAT5/6) and basic switch/router setup.
* Printer troubleshooting and support.
* Ability to work across both office and shop-floor/industrial environments.
Desirable
* Previous IT support experience in a manufacturing/industrial business.
* Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems or production-line IT.
* Understanding of IT security best practices.
Details
Monday - Friday: 9am - 5pm with a degree of flexibility when required and needed.
30k-40k per annum depending on experience.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
