About the Role
We are seeking a Flexible Teaching Assistant to provide adaptable classroom support across a range of primary and secondary settings in Newcastle and North Tyneside. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, can step into different roles with confidence, and thrives in inclusive learning environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide classroom cover when Teaching Assistants or teachers are absent
* Support pupils individually or in small groups, reinforcing learning under teacher direction
* Assist with classroom routines, transitions, and behaviour management
* Help prepare materials, displays, and learning resources
* Encourage positive engagement and monitor pupil progress, feeding back to class teachers
Person Specification
* Experience in schools or working with children preferred (not essential)
* Flexible, reliable, and able to adapt to different classroom environments
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Patient, positive, and confident managing varied pupil needs
* DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain) and commitment to safeguarding

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
