What you will do
This is an exciting opportunity to join ScotRail Trains Limited (SRT) as a Procurement & Contracts Business Partner based in Atrium Court, Glasgow. The key purpose of this role is strategic sourcing, compliance management, contracting, overseeing the management of key contracts, and day-to-day procurement activities for the assigned Directorate to maximise value for money for SRT. Ensure the Procurement Policy is understood and followed by key stakeholders and that supplier performance management processes are in place.
Key Accountabilities for this role
* Create and own Business Plans for strategic sourcing/tendering opportunities, including new contracts or contracts due to expire and high-spend areas not currently covered by a contract.
* Collaborate with contract stakeholders and suppliers to develop KPIs for contract performance.
* Govern compliance to the Procurement Policy across the contractual landscape for your function.
* Monitor, track, expedite and, where appropriate, implement variations to goods and service contracts.
* Manage and develop relationships with stakeholders and suppliers within your Directorate and wider business, along with key legal services providers.
* Develop and manage the use of ScotRail contract terms and conditions templates.
* Control and improve commercial terms and deliverables across the supply chain.
* Evaluate and advise on scope for new or improved contracts and internal processes, systems and management procedures.
* Participate in periodic Contract/Performance Reviews for your Contracts.
* Assist in enhancing purchasing policies and procedures.
* Rationalise suppliers and develop new and existing supply chain relationships.
* Manage and mentor direct reports (if applicable) toward a succession plan.
* Some travel within the UK (mainly Scotland) is expected.
What you bring
Educated to degree level in a related field or equivalent. Ideally Chartered or working towards Chartered status with CIPS. Practical knowledge of procurement processes is essential. Must be a strong team player with the ability to develop relationships with critical stakeholders. Experience of end-to-end tendering, managing commercial contracts in a public sector environment (ideally Utilities Contracts Regulations) is essential. Highly articulate and analytical with proficient IT skills (MS Office). Desirable to have qualifications/experience in Legal Contracts Management.

£58,132 per annum
Hours of Work
Contracted hours: 35 per week
Selection Process
Candidates shortlisted will be invited to a competency-based interview. The final stage for successful candidates will be an online medical. Training initially involves a 2-day virtual induction.
