We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our thriving Adult Autism Diagnostic Team. This opportunity allows you to develop expertise in neurodevelopmental diagnostic assessment and differential diagnosis for adults with suspected autism, within a supportive, clinically‑excellence focused environment.
You will work under highly experienced psychology leads as part of a robust multidisciplinary team, receiving continuous professional development in Autism and related neurodevelopmental and mental‑health conditions.
This is a full‑time, permanent position.
Main duties
* Provide specialist neurodevelopmental/Autism diagnostic assessments for adults without a learning disability, complex mental‑health conditions, and psychiatric comorbidities.
* Deliver specialist psychological assessments, differential diagnosis, and cognitive assessments, integrating complex data from psychological & neuropsychological tests, self‑report measures, rating scales, structured observations, and semi‑structured interviews with clients, families, and other stakeholders.
* Offer highly specialist psychological advice, guidance, and consultation to other professionals, contributing directly to clients’ formulation, diagnosis, and treatment plans, especially for those with neurodevelopmental conditions and complex mental‑health interactions.
Qualifications
* Doctoral level training in clinical psychology or counselling psychology.
* Registration with the Health Professions Council (HCPC).
* Desirable: completion of further post‑qualification specialist training in Autism.
Experience
* Appropriate level of experience working with adults in the Autism and comorbid mental‑health group.
* Experience within a neurodevelopmental team and/or an ASD diagnostic pathway.
* Experience completing ASD diagnostic assessments with adults (or children if applicable).
Knowledge
* Understanding of diagnostic considerations for adults with suspect ASD and complex mental‑health comorbidities.
