UHCW NHS Trust is seeking a motivated and experienced Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our expanding in-patient teams at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire.
The role involves rotations through:
* Trauma & Orthopaedics, Neuro Sciences, Cardiothoracics, General Critical Care, Major Trauma, and Surgery with head and neck.
Our Trauma & Orthopaedic wards feature multiple surgeries and house an MTECU, a specialised NOF area, working closely with doctors, nurses, and the MDT.
The Neuro Science wards treat complex neuro patients with diverse conditions, requiring strong discharge planning and communication skills.
The Cardiothoracic Unit is a regional centre with ITU, HDU, step-down, and wards performing routine and complex cardiac, thoracic, and upper GI surgeries.
The General Critical Care Unit has 26 beds with a challenging caseload, including Major Trauma, Neurosurgical, and ICU/HDU patients.
Applicants must provide an immunisation and vaccination report from their UK occupational health provider or GP.
Main duties include:
* Working within the Major Trauma team, formulating plans, collaborating with MDT, and creating rehab prescriptions.
* Supporting the Surgery team across various wards, including head and neck, with growing specialities and advanced surgeries.
The successful candidate will work with integrated teams of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, assessing and treating a wide range of conditions in an acute setting. Experience in staff supervision, training, appraisals, service development, and audits is desirable.
The post involves participation in overnight on-call, weekend respiratory rota, and the 7-day service rota for the specific area, with training provided.
All therapy staff are supported by experienced Band 7 Therapists and have access to professional development, training, and supervision. The department offers regular CPD opportunities and a robust appraisal system.
