We are currently recruiting for a full-time Administrator for one of our prestigious clients based in the Eastbourne / Peacehaven area.
The main purpose of the role, which will be based in their busy distribution centre, is to ensure that all administration for customer orders are processed in compliance with international and UK shipping regulations in an efficient, cost effective and timely manner.
Main Responsibilities:
1. To support the management of the Central Distribution Warehouse, including the shipping administration team and warehouse
2. Ensure that all despatches are completed on a daily basis and that accurate freight charges are applied to invoices
3. To book all customers freight forwarders upon receipt of paperwork and ensure that all relevant export documentation is attached to accompany goods
4. To ensure that all outstanding collections are monitored on a weekly basis and forwarders chased on collections not made
5. To administer an effective booking system with customers/forwarders for smooth running of the Central Distribution Warehouse
6. To ensure that all invoice files are filed correctly with all required paperwork. With all necessary certificates of shipments on a daily basis. Proof of export obtained where necessary
7. To ensure that Despatches and reporting are complete at the end of each working week and meeting with relevant despatch teams
8. To assist with the shipping/importing of container shipments and dealing with any queries they may have with regards to their international and UK customer’s shipments
9. As a registered document signer, provide export documentation service as required
10. Keep up-to-date with developments in business information and legislation affecting export
What We’re Looking For:
11. Ideally, knowledge/experience of international shipping to global markets, though training can be given
12. Some experience of administering a central distribution warehouse or similar environment, with an understanding or ability to learn commodity/tariff codes and legal obligations/terms
13. Problem solving skills
14. Computer literate – experienced using Microsoft office, especially Word and Excel
15. Excellent communication skills and a confident telephone manner
16. Strong organisational and administrative skills
17. Be able to work on own initiative as well as part of the team
18. Ability to work under pressure
19. Results driven
What’s on Offer:
20. Salary of £27,000 per annum depending on experience
21. Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm (one-hour lunch break)
