Your new role As an Electrical Technician, you will be part of a dedicated Engineering team responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of heavy plant and equipment. Working Monday to Friday, your role will involve both planned and reactive maintenance activities, as well as modifications to a wide range of industrial machinery. Key responsibilities include: Performing fault diagnosis and repairs on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Prioritising breakdowns in collaboration with operations to minimise downtime. Supporting project work, quality assurance systems, and health and safety initiatives. Ensuring all work is documented and compliant with internal policies and HSE regulations.What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will need: A minimum of ONC/HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering. Proven experience working with heavy plant and equipment in an industrial setting, ideally within quarrying or bulk handling environments. Strong practical knowledge of conveyor systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating machinery. Diagnostic and fault-finding skills using appropriate tools and techniques. Familiarity with Permit to Work systems and incident reporting procedures. Desirable: Knowledge of PLCs, drive control systems, HV networks, and CMMS platforms such as SAP. Understanding of maintenance strategies like RCM, PM, CBM, and TPM.
