Instructional Facilitator
Position Goal
* Deliver continuous improvement through classroom instruction by providing instructional support to teachers in the elements of research-based instruction and by demonstrating the alignment of instruction with curriculum standards and assessment tools; develop instructional strategies; develop and implement training; choose standards-based instructional materials; provide teachers with an understanding of current research; integrate technology into instruction; assist in the implementation of the components of the City University Schools Improvement Plan.
Responsibilities
* Collect, prepare, and submit in a timely manner all documents for Title 1 and Title 2 Compliance.
* Apply strategies of adult learning across teacher leadership activities in order to aid in the development of faculty to ensure quality instruction and academic success for all scholars.
* Inform and facilitate the design and implementation of integrated professional development based on assessed student and teacher needs.
* Assist faculty in analyzing classroom and state assessment data to inform instruction.
* Provide demonstration lessons in curriculum for classroom teachers and others.
* Facilitate communication about research-based instructional practices and student achievement between and among teachers, within and across all grade levels.
* Demonstrate current instructional technology in the classroom and for data analysis.
* Provide differentiated assistance to faculty based on individual needs.
* Facilitate and participate in district and building level trainings.
* Serve as the Building Testing Coordinator for all schools.
* Compile, assemble and work within the framework of the School Improvement Plan.
* Compile and update textbook inventory, technology tools inventory i.e. computer carts, iPads, calculators, etc.
* Conduct drop‑in faculty evaluations and give feedback to the administration.
* Provide recommendations regarding hiring and securing high quality personnel.
* Attend faculty meetings and professional development to promote the educational culture of the schools.
* Perform other related duties as assigned or directed in order to support the overall success of all schools on one campus.
Qualifications
* The selected individual must have a Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree is preferred.
* A valid Tennessee teaching license and four (4) years of classroom teaching experience (minimum) and at least two (2) years of administrative experience.
* Applicant must also have proven recent experience providing/facilitating professional development/learning as well as demonstrative success in working with at‑risk student population.
* Be appropriately trained and able to handle emergency situations that occur with staff, parents, and students.
* Must be able to work with a diverse constituent base and have the ability to work with parents. Be familiar with providing college preparatory curriculum, programs and services.
* City University Schools complies with all Tennessee policies regarding minimum requirements that administrators be certified in the applicable area or demonstrate progress toward obtaining proper certification.
* The selected candidate must submit a recent portfolio of professional development presentations in order to demonstrate a firm understanding of the key elements necessary for academic success in today’s school environments.
* All writing and communication must be of free thought and intellect, as well as absent of plagiarism. Any past or current occurrence of plagiarism will serve as grounds for automatic removal from the application pool for an educational post at City University Schools.

Terms of Employment
This is a 12-month position. All contractual information shall be outlined in the contract between the Instructional Facilitator and the City University Schools Board of Trustees. The Instructional Facilitator shall be evaluated in accordance with Board policy.
