The Role As a Technical Surveyor within the Assets Department, your role is pivotal to the effective management, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the housing stock. You are responsible for delivering expert technical assessments and conducting comprehensive property surveys, including the design and specification of adaptation works and the case management of disrepair claims. The role demands a high level of technical proficiency in diagnosing and resolving complex building and structural issues, as well as providing specialist advice on construction systems, energy performance, and sustainability. You will also be responsible for supervising works under NEC contracts, ensuring contractors deliver to specification, budget, and timescales while maintaining quality standards and compliance. You play a key role in supporting decarbonisation strategies and driving improvements in energy efficiency, ensuring the housing stock complies with regulatory standards and achieves excellence in quality, safety, and environmental performance. About You You are a highly skilled and experienced building professional with a strong technical background in property surveying, maintenance, and asset management. With a keen eye for detail and a methodical approach, you have a proven ability to diagnose complex building issues, manage disrepair cases, and deliver high-quality technical assessments. Your expertise includes carrying out detailed property surveys, designing adaptation works, and advising on structural integrity, building systems, and energy efficiency measures. You’re confident working independently and as part of a team, bringing clear, practical solutions to technical challenges while keeping residents' needs at the heart of what you do. You are also passionate about sustainability and understand the importance of improving energy performance and supporting decarbonisation initiatives across the housing stock. Your strong communication and case management skills ensure you can liaise effectively with contractors, colleagues, and external stakeholders to deliver excellent results. You take pride in your work and are committed to continuous improvement and professional development, ensuring homes are safe, compliant, and of a high standard. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel, is important. You should also be confident in reviewing and working with both AutoCAD and Revit drawings to support technical assessments, project planning, and design work. The ability to handle a variety of operational enquiries efficiently while managing multiple tasks simultaneously is essential to success in this role.
