An Academy is looking for multiple Maths Teachers to join them on a permanent basis for September.
This Academy is one of our best clients and always take the time to ensure staff develop and grow alongside their students.
Key Duties / Responsibilities:
1. Establish a safe and stimulating environment for pupils, rooted in mutual respect.
2. Set goals that stretch and challenge pupils of all backgrounds, abilities and dispositions.
3. Have a secure knowledge of the relevant subject(s) and curriculum areas taught, foster and maintain pupils’ interest in the subject, and address misunderstandings.
4. Impart knowledge and develop understanding through effective use of lesson time
5. Promote a love of learning and children’s intellectual curiosity
6. Set homework (and house this on the VLE) and plan other out-of-class activities to consolidate and extend the knowledge and understanding pupils have acquired
7. Know and understand how to assess the relevant subject and curriculum areas you teach, including statutory assessment requirements
8. Make use of formative and summative assessment to secure pupils’ progress
9. Use relevant data to monitor progress, set targets, and plan subsequent lessons
Requirements:
10. Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree
11. Have successful teaching experience at secondary level (can be teaching practice), ideally including experience in multi-ethnic urban schools and of working in an 11-18 school
12. Understand the theory and practice of effective teaching and learning
13. Understand the importance of high expectations and equality of access for all students, and of being a tutor
14. Have knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4, and of writing lesson plans, developing resources and assessing students’ work
15. Be able to work as part of a team and to develop and maintain positive relationships with all staff
16. Have a good level of ICT skills, ideally including innovative use of interactive white boards
17. Be able to create a motivating and safe learning environment for all students
18. Be able to communicate positively with parents, carers and other external agencies where necessary
19. Have good written and spoken communication skills
