Electronic Engineering Lab Technician Carbon60 is seeking an experienced Electronic Engineering Lab Technician to join their defence client's growing team in Stevenage. In this role, you will play a crucial role in supporting the company's electronic engineering operations, ensuring the smooth running and efficient use of the lab facilities. Responsibilities: - Manage the general housekeeping, health and safety, and electrostatic discharge (ESD) management of the assigned lab - Assist lab users with project scheduling and resource planning for the lab facilities - Provide hands-on support to lab users, including monitoring tests and undertaking rework activities to IPC standards - Oversee the maintenance and calibration of lab equipment and assets to guarantee availability and usability - Train lab users on basic skills such as soldering, crimping, cable lay-ups, and the use of lab test equipment - Manage lab security to ensure access is limited to authorised personnel only - Liaise with key stakeholders, including project managers, product line heads, and the Electronic Engineering UK Lab Manager Skills and experience: - Prior experience in engineering lab management - Current IPC Certificates in J-STD-001 and IPC-7721, with IPC-A-610 being a significant benefit - Strong understanding of ESD management - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Commitment to maintaining high standards of lab cleanliness and efficiency This is a 6-month inside IR35 contract role, with the potential for extension. Umbrella rate £25 per hour (PAYE also available) Onsite for 5 days per week, with flexible start and end times.
