Position: Operating Department Practitioner / Theatre Practitioner – Recovery and Anaesthetics
Location: Solihull
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum.
Employment: Full time.
Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Scrub Nurse to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on cosmetic surgery.
Responsibilities
* Operating Theatre Preparation: Ensure the operating theatre is fully sterilised and prepared for procedures.
* Equipment Preparation: Prepare and organise necessary equipment for surgeries.
* Sterilisation: Sterilise materials, gloves, and gowns.
* Inventory Counts: Perform initial counts of sponges, instruments, and needles.
* Team Coordination: Liaise with other nurse teams throughout the surgical process.
* Post‑Surgery Care: Assist with dressing wounds and preparing the patient for the recovery room.
* Surgical Assistance: Assist the surgeon throughout the procedure with various tasks.
Requirements
* Qualifications: Formal nursing qualifications (RGN) are required.
* Experience: Must have experience with WHO checklists, team briefings, and strong communication skills.
* Flexibility: Must live locally and be flexible to cover shifts as per the rota.
* On‑call duties after the surgical list are also required.
* Shift Patterns: Shifts start at either 7am or 9am.
