Credit Controller
My client in St Albans is growing fast and looking for a reliable Credit Controller to join their finance team. This isn’t just about making phone calls; since the daily chasing is already automated, you will truly own the credit function and focus on solving complex account disputes and keeping reconciliations up to date.

Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor debtor balances and implement early-intervention strategies to minimise aged debt.
* Execute assertive debt recovery via telephone and email, ensuring consistent cash flow.
* Meet and exceed departmental cash collection targets and credit control KPIs.
* Act as the primary point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders to facilitate the swift resolution of invoice queries.
* Manage and complete daily workflows within credit control software to maintain data integrity.
* Categorise and action all incoming correspondence within the centralised credit control inbox to ensure no query goes unanswered.
* Perform comprehensive online credit checks for new accounts to mitigate financial risk.
* Resolve discrepancies in high-volume or complex customer accounts through meticulous reconciliation.
* Ensure all collection activities strictly align with established company credit policies and legal procedures.
The successful candidate will have:
* Proven experience in credit control, with the ambition and capability to take full ownership of the business’s credit control function.
* A track record of successfully collecting outstanding debt from both residential and commercial portfolios.
* Familiarity with QuickBooks, Simpro, or Kolleno is highly advantageous, though full training will be provided.
* Superb organisational skills and a keen eye for detail, ensuring tasks are completed accurately the first time.
* A knack for managing a busy desk effectively, with the adaptability to pivot when priorities shift.
