From the depths ofthe ocean to the far reaches of space, there s no limit to where acareer at BAE Systems could take you.What you will bedoing: In this role, you willlead the planning anddelivery of electrical commissioning activities across a definedtest section, ensuring alignment with wider Test &Commissioning (T&C) programme objectives. You will takeownership ofcommissioning strategy execution, driving performance against time,cost, and quality targets. You will support andlead a team ofcommissioning engineers, providing technical direction, oversight,and coaching within a complex nuclear environment.Working closely with the Reactor Test Group (RTG), you willauthorise test documentation and ensure all commissioningactivities are conducted safely and in compliance with regulatoryand company standards. Coreduties: Drive thedelivery of test and commissioning plans in line with programmemilestones Lead and support a team ofnuclear electrical commissioning engineersSupport the Reactor Test Group (RTG), includingauthorisation of test documentation Act asAuthorised Person within the Permit to Work systemReview and approve engineering outputs and technicaldocumentation Plan and manage commissioning programmesacross complexsystems Embed Learning from Experience (LFE)to improve safety, quality, and deliveryCoordinate with stakeholders to ensure safe and compliantexecution of commissioning activities Essential Skills: Degree, HNC/HND in an engineering disciplineor equivalent experience Strong understanding of nuclearsystems and associated testing and commissioningactivities Knowledge of submarine systems andtheir operation Experience working withinnuclear, COMAH, or similarly highly regulatedenvironments Proven ability to plan anddeliver test and commissioning programmesExperience leading, mentoring, anddeveloping teams in complex engineeringenvironments Familiarity with Learning fromExperience (LFE) principles and continuousimprovement practices The RTS CommissioningTeam: Working within the ReactorTest Section (RTS) Commissioning Team, you will lead the planning and deliveryof commissioning activities across major engineering systems andplatform assemblies. You will manage a large and diverse teamof commissioning engineers, bringing together a wide range oftechnical skills to deliver a complex and unique project ofnational importance. This role provides theopportunity to influence commissioning strategy, drive continuousimprovement, and contribute to the successful delivery of criticalsubmarine systems.
