Repairs Team Leader
Lead a team of engineers to deliver high-quality, safe, and efficient repairs to customers' homes and estates, ensuring work is completed right first time and in line with company vision, policies, and budget. Support empty homes function during peak demand.
Responsibilities
* Manage and motivate a team of engineers to meet operational and commercial targets.
* Ensure compliance with health & safety, mandatory training, and risk assessments.
* Deliver repairs efficiently, minimising follow-on work and maximising first-time fixes.
* Maintain high standards of customer care and service delivery.
* Monitor resources, tools, and materials to optimise productivity and reduce waste.
* Conduct regular team meetings, one-to-ones, and appraisals.
* Handle complaints, disciplinary actions, and ensure policy compliance.
* Manage out-of-hours rota and provide emergency escalation support.
Skills & Attributes
* Strong technical knowledge of domestic housing repairs.
* Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
* Commercial awareness and ability to analyse data for efficiency.
* Customer-focused, solution-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and management systems.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
* Trade qualification (City & Guilds, BTEC Level 3, or equivalent) OR significant relevant experience.
* Minimum 2 years in a repairs service environment.
* Supervisory experience and ability to manage priorities.
* Full UK driving licence.
