The role
Who You Are This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and optimization of software systems within the Benefits Service. You must be detail-oriented and conscientious, with a strong technical background and a commitment to providing excellent service in the administration of housing benefits. You will work collaboratively with various departments and external partners and require skills in problem-solving, project management, and communication. What the Job Involves Daily maintenance and monitoring of IT systems used by the Benefits service Administration and optimization of the NEC system, including user management and system updates Collaboration with System Development and Monitoring Officer for system testing and deployment Assist in the preparation of Department for Work & Pensions and Government returns Facilitate income collection and safeguard against Housing Benefit overpayments Maintain system integrity and data security in compliance with regulatory requirements Provide technical support to the Benefits team and assist in project rollouts Generate and analyze reports for management and compliance purposes Liaise with internal departments and external agencies for data handling and auditing Ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection policies Skills Experience with Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support assessment Proficiency with Windows-based office applications Strong numeracy, accounting, and literacy skills Discrete and understanding of GDPR and confidential data handling Problem-solving and analytical capabilities Ability to learn and apply complex legislation Effective communication and numerical reasoning skills Experience in software testing or IT system administration Project management experience GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
