Global Category Manager Procurement at HSBC.
HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, operating in 64 countries and territories. We are looking for an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Global Category Manager Procurement.
The Global Category Manager works closely with the Global Category Lead and other Category Leads/Regional Heads to deliver against portfolio projects across Corporate Sourcing, Banking Services, Operations and Strategic Sourcing categories. The role focuses on assessing outsourcing opportunities for HSBC across its business lines and services, driving category strategy for Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) opportunities, executing sourcing projects, and delivering cost savings, lifecycle value, demand management and innovation.
Responsibilities
* Globally drive the category strategy management and planning for a Procurement sub‑category to deliver competitive advantage for HSBC through cost savings, lifecycle value, demand management and innovation.
* Develop and deliver BPO toolkits for the evaluation of outsourcing decisions.
* Work with key stakeholders to build detailed Specifications / Description of Services.
* Lead global outsourcing exercises covering multiple countries and requirements (RFI / RFP).
* Execute sourcing projects to deliver savings targets and other key business outcomes.
* Identify post‑contract value opportunities and delivery, in alignment with Category Strategies.
* Support the Global Category Lead to provide Category Management expertise, leveraging strategic sourcing disciplines, project management and relationship management skills.
* Develop influential senior level relationships across designated businesses and functions, owning the sourcing process.
* Analyse and synthesize a range of commercial models, with a focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
Qualifications
* Proven track record in sourcing and managing BPO or outsourcing activities.
* Experience managing global categories in procurement.
* Ability to develop and maintain a global stakeholder network in a complex, dynamic environment.
* Strong negotiation and analytical skills with a strategic thinking mindset.
* Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, multicultural, fast‑paced environment.
