Shockerwick House is an historic 17th‑century building that has been lovingly converted into a care facility offering nursing, residential care, convalescence, palliative, short stays (minimum one week), and day care. The home sits on twelve acres of wheelchair‑friendly gardens with an orangery and vegetable plot, and offers resident‑sized rooms, secure access, 24‑hour call systems, and in‑room TV and telephone.
Special diets are catered for; dining rooms are oak‑panelled and snacks and drinks are available throughout the day and night. Residents enjoy relaxation sessions, manicures, foot spas, arts and crafts, and musical afternoons.
Key Responsibilities
* Support residents with a wide range of differing requirements from companionship to personal care.
* Observe and manage residents’ behaviour with care and document/report any changes in accordance with legislation.
* Support residents’ nutrition and hydration needs, encouraging and assisting them to eat and drink according to their care plan.
* Provide essential physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, both in groups and individually.
* Maintain accurate care plans in line with regulatory and legal requirements.

* Motivation, positivity, and great interpersonal skills.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Desirable: Previous experience in a care home environment or a Health and Social Care qualification.
