Job Description
The Family Solicitor - Head of Department will be:
3. Manage the family department in the Ripon office.
4. Managing divorce cases including financial remedy work and ancillary relief.
5. Handling children disputes and related litigation.
6. Tackling family-law litigation matters (contested hearings, injunctions, enforcement etc).
7. Supervising, mentoring and developing junior fee-earners and support staff.
8. Building the department's client base, managing relationships and contributing to business growth.
9. Collaborating with other departments (e.g., private client, conveyancing) to ensure cross-selling and holistic service.
10. Reporting to senior management on performance, forecasts and key metrics.
The Successful Applicant
The Family Solicitor - Head of Department should be / have;
11. A solicitor in family law - ideally at least 5+ years' experience dealing with divorce, financial remedies, children disputes and family litigation.
12. Experienced in managing or supervising juniors
13. Strong in all aspects of family litigation - including contested hearings, injunctions, settlement negotiations and enforcement.
14. Dealing with business development, building client relationships and cross-selling services.
15. Excellent communicator, pragmatic, with strong client-service focus and ability to work in a regional environment.
