Socode are partnering with a well-established engineering consultancy delivering complex product development programmes across multiple industries. As their project portfolio continues to grow, they’re looking to appoint a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to strengthen their capability across electronics and mechanical product delivery.
This is a hands-on leadership role focused on bridging R&D and manufacturing. You’ll play a key role in ensuring products move efficiently from prototype through to scalable production, while building and developing a high-performing team.
What will you be doing?
• Providing design for manufacture and assembly (DfMA) input across engineering projects
• Supporting the transition of complex electronic and mechanical products into production
• Managing and coordinating external supply chain partners and contract manufacturers
• Driving improvements in manufacturing processes, tools, and best practices
• Supporting bids and proposals with manufacturing insight
• Working closely with project managers and technical teams to deliver programmes
• Assessing supplier performance and resolving quality or delivery issues
• Leading and developing a small team of engineers and technical specialists
What are they looking for?
• Strong experience in manufacturing engineering within an electronics or RF-led environment
• Background working across the full product development lifecycle
• Good understanding of electronics manufacturing processes (e.g. SMT, PCB assemblies)
• Experience managing suppliers and contract manufacturers
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, client-facing environment
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams
Nice to have
• Experience working with RF or high-complexity electronic systems
• Exposure to low-to-mid volume production environments
• Background in consultancy or customer-facing engineering roles
• Knowledge of regulated industries or advanced manufacturing sectors
