This role is based at The County High School, Leftwich, which is a high performing, fully inclusive, co-educational, 11-16 school with approximately 1050 students, 60 teaching and 60 support staff. The school serves a mixed catchment area with a Published Admission Number of 210, and we are now significantly over-subscribed.

About the Role
We are looking for an inspiring and dedicated Teacher of History to join our thriving, hardworking History team at The County High School Leftwich on a temporary, 1-year fixed term, basis.
You will be responsible for effective planning and implementation of the curriculum, ensuring quality first teaching, monitoring assessments, recording and reporting. You will also perform the role of form tutor, if designated as such.

About the History Department
The history department currently consists of 3 full time members of staff and moved into the new building of the school in 2023. All classrooms are well appointed with storage, wide screen monitors and large touch screen TVs.
History is a popular and successful subject amongst students with high uptake at Key Stage 4. We have a track record of achieving significantly positive progress scores at KS4. Teachers also pride themselves on delivering a broad and engaging curriculum with both substantive and disciplinary knowledge at its heart. With generous allocation of teaching hours at Key Stage 3, students are able to cover a wide range of enquiry-based units that are fully resourced in booklet format.
You will work in a highly supportive and collaborative department that has proven experience of developing staff through highly successful ITT placements. Subsequently, ITT providers have sought closer collaboration with the department to help deliver seminars to their students. We work in partnership with the Foundation to collaborate with other academies to improve our in-class and extra-curricular offer to students.
The successful candidate will be committed to evidence informed practice to teach an academically challenging curriculum that maximises student potential. As someone with a passion for engaging students in history, you will strive to enrich our students understanding of the past and to contribute to an excellent curriculum.

•Recent experience of teaching History to KS3 and KS4 across the ability range
•Knowledge of GCSE expectations in the subject area
•PGCE and experience of continuing professional development
•An enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning of your subject specialism
•The ability to inspire students to reach their individual potential.
