We are looking to appoint confident, reliable, and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to join a vibrant team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and is considering a career in education.
Cover Supervisors play a vital role in a school by supervising lessons during the short-term absence of teaching staff. You will be expected to deliver pre-prepared work to classes and maintain a positive learning environment. Starting September 2025.
Duties as Cover Supervisor:
* Supervise students in the classroom during the absence of the regular teacher.
* Ensure students remain on task with the work set by the teacher.
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
* Respond to questions from students and provide support where necessary.
* Ensure the classroom is left tidy at the end of the lesson.
Ideal Cover Supervisor:
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as a Cover Supervisor.
* The ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
* Confidence and presence in front of a class.
* A flexible and proactive approach to work.
* Experience working with secondary-aged students (desirable but not essential).
