Job Overview
We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer Consulting to join our growing team of like‑minded tech professionals. You will be involved in everything from project planning through to delivery and handover, working alongside a supportive and knowledgeable team.
Typical projects include a mix of on‑premise and cloud work. You might configure new cloud services, migrate Microsoft 365 environments, deploy or upgrade virtual servers, install and secure firewalls, set up VPNs, or implement backup and disaster‑recovery solutions. The role offers a wide variety of hands‑on opportunities with new technologies, helping clients modernise their systems and improve reliability, performance, and security.
Responsibilities
Project Delivery (80%)
* Deliver implementation projects that meet scope, budget, and time targets.
* Produce clear, professional documentation to support both clients and internal teams.
* Manage effective handovers to Service Delivery to ensure a seamless transition.
* Implement new technologies that add real value to client environments.
Project Planning (20%)
* Scope and plan successful projects.
This role may require some evening and weekend work when projects or customer requirements call for it. Flexible hours outside standard business hours are part of the role.
Qualifications
* Relevant networking, infrastructure, and Microsoft qualifications (e.g., CCNA, JNCP, MCSA, VCP).
* Microsoft 365/Azure – managing Azure & Office 365, including Conditional Access, Azure AD Connect, Exchange Online/Hybrid, SharePoint, Teams, Intune/Endpoint Manager.
* Cloud – experience with public and private cloud such as AWS and Azure.
* Virtualisation – maintaining and updating VMware vSphere and Hyper‑V environments, including replication and failover.
* VOIP – supporting FreePBX, Mitel, Gamma, Skype/Teams VOIP systems.
* Security – experience with MDM, MFA, Email Filtering, Next Generation firewalls and antivirus solutions.
* Windows Server – installation and configuration.
* Storage – maintaining, updating, troubleshooting SAN devices; configuring iSCSI connectivity; managing and troubleshooting clusters.
* Remote Desktop Services – supporting and troubleshooting RDS, RemoteApp, and Citrix environments (on‑prem and cloud).
* Networking – network troubleshooting at 3rd line; supporting Palo Alto, Sophos, FortiNet, Draytek, Juniper, Cisco firewalls.
* Endpoint Support – Windows desktop, application, tablet, and mobile device support.
* Soft Skills – effective communication, methodical diagnosis and documentation, independent research, organisation and prioritisation; full clean UK driving licence.
