Main purpose of role
Reporting to the Head of Engineering this position shall be responsible for the engineering function of the business and the management of the engineering department.
Responsibilities Include:
* To assess, repair, maintain and develop machinery and equipment.
* Provide engineering support and information for the maintenance and development of the manufacturing operations and business needs.
* Develop and implement short / medium / long term engineering-based strategy to support the businesses manufacturing capability in line with business development and strategic plans, against engineering and business budgets/forecasts.
* Management of engineers / contractors to maintain and develop plant machinery and equipment.
* To assess, maintain and develop machine and equipment specifications.
* To provide manufacturing support relating to plant/process efficiency, safety, and product quality.
* General management of engineering department personnel, including provision for training, support, cover and holiday management.
* To ensure engineering workshops procedures and equipment are developed and maintained in a satisfactory condition; that related environment, health and safety issues, standards and policies are maintained and adhered to.
* Any other existing or new tasks needed to meet the business operations requirements / objectives that are in keeping with post-holders skills and training, primarily in an engineering capacity.
Requirements:
* Experience of leading maintenance teams within Industrial manufacturing
* BTEC or above in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
* Multi skilled in both mechanical/electrical disciplines
