Role Purpose
This is a new product testing role involving managing and executing the full test engineering lifecycle, from defining test cases to developing test tools and managing facilities. It suits someone with broad engineering knowledge, imagination, and drive. The role can be offered as permanent or contract based on your preference.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyze specifications to derive test requirements.
* Plan, design, and communicate test cases for electro-mechanical systems across development and production phases.
* Design test jigs, harnesses, and software, including automation.
* Implement data processing software to analyze results.
* Manage internal test facilities and liaise with external test providers.
* Execute tests safely and effectively.
* Conduct fault finding and failure analysis.
* Document and present results and findings.
Essential Skills
* HNC or Degree in relevant engineering discipline.
* At least 3 years in a test-focused role or test equipment development.
* Experience in data capture and analysis.
* Working knowledge of multi-disciplinary systems (electrical, mechanical, software).
* Experience with engineering NPI environments.
* Proficiency with test equipment and platforms.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Experience in NPI design phases and requirements verification.
* Ability to create test cases from requirements.
* Experience with National Instruments testing software and hardware.
* Hands-on experience with electronic circuits.
* Innovative mindset and sound engineering principles.
* Ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
* Knowledge of product certification standards.
* Enthusiasm and drive.
* Ability to produce high-quality test reports.
Desirable Skills
* Experience in offshore/subsea industries.
* Experience in production test facilities.
* Knowledge of LabView/TestStand software.
* Programming skills in Python, C, C#, C++, VB, etc.
* Experience in test equipment creation and commissioning.
* Understanding of mechanical principles.
* Knowledge of industry standards like CE/DNV.
* Previous customer-facing experience.
