We’re recruiting for an experienced Power Factor Engineer to join a specialist engineering business delivering high-performance power and electrical solutions across the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in power factor correction systems to step into a dynamic, field-based role with exposure to critical infrastructure and energy projects.
The Role:
As a Power Factor Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing, and repair of PFC units and associated electrical systems. These systems are installed across a range of industrial and high-voltage sites, helping clients improve energy efficiency, reduce reactive power charges, and stabilise their electrical supply.
You’ll be field-based with regular UK-wide travel, working both independently and alongside high-voltage engineers. All travel expenses and accommodation are covered, and you’ll be equipped with a fully kitted van and all necessary tools.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Installing and commissioning Power Factor equipment on industrial sites
* Carrying out planned maintenance and repairs on capacitor banks and related control systems
* Diagnosing faults and offering technical solutions for reactive power issues
* Supporting energy efficiency improvements in HV and LV environments
* Preparing service reports and maintaining documentation in line with safety standards
1. What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience working with Power Factor systems or similar electrical equipment
* Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, ideally in industrial settings
* Based in the North West (Macclesfield, Manchester, Cheshire, etc.)
* Full UK driving licence
* Willing to travel across the UK with occasional overnight stays
