Building Services Multiskilled Technician Plumbing and Mechanical Bias Location:Royston SG8 5HE Hours:40 hours per week Rate Of Pay:£41.000 plus Sodexo benefits About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and proactive Building Services Multiskilled Technician with a plumbing/mechanical bias to join our on-site team at Royston. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering statutory, legislative, and mandatory maintenance across a range of building services. You will complete both planned and reactive maintenance on all plant, equipment, systems, and building fabric, ensuring compliance with best practice, statutory requirements, and service level agreements. The role also involves delivering minor new works from conception to completion. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose faults and repair building services assets within your technical capability. Undertake routine maintenance and ensure systems meet regulatory and best practice standards. Carry out like-for-like asset replacement and minor new works as directed. Respond to emergency call-outs and provide engineering expertise out of hours. Supervise specialist sub-contractors and support apprentice activities. Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time taken. Ensure all work is carried out safely, complying with Health, Safety, Environmental, and industry regulations. Build professional relationships with clients and team members. About You: NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification in Building Services or a related discipline. Completed a recognised apprenticeship. Practical engineering skills and experience working independently in a technical maintenance environment. Working knowledge of engineering compliance, standards, and best practice. Experience working to health and safety standards. IT literate, with experience using Microsoft Office and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems. Ability to self-manage and plan workload to meet deadlines. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively. IPAF and Legionella awareness are desirable.
