The team that you will work with you is talented, motivated, and subject to current review in line with BAPT guidance revisions. We are looking for a candidate who will be visible and both patient and staff focused to work within this excellent team.This is the perfect opportunity for a nurse who wishes to pursue a CNS role in Paediatric Diabetes.
For internal applications, this post could be considered as a secondment with your direct line managers support.Main duties of the jobThe Paediatric Diabetes team is a multidisciplinary service consisting of consultant staffing, Diabetes Clinical Nurse Specialist Support, Diabetes Dietitian support, Registered Nursing Associate, admin service support, and input from the Child Psychiatry Team (CAPPLT) providing a comprehensive service to all patients with diabetes, whether this be newly diagnosed, or maintaining their health following a diagnosis. The service operates Monday – Friday and provides Outpatient, Psychotherapy, Psychology, and ambulating services to all patients within the cohort, as well as providing support to external stakeholders such as local GP practices and schools, and the service works in tandem with other Diabetes team within hospitals in the North Central London area. In addition to a full range of cancer diagnosis and treatment services, the Helen Rollason Cancer Support Centre is based on-site and provides services to support cancer patients’ wellbeing. We also provide community services and have a dedicated 0-19 service for children and young people in Enfield so that they can get the best possible start in life.
This includes health visitors and school nurses who are delivering the national Healthy Child Programme, which provides a structured framework for the delivery of key interventions to support the health and wellbeing of children and families from 0 to 5 and school aged children from 5-19. The 0-19 service aims to improve pathways and partnerships with services in the hospital and deliver excellent care for the children and families.
