About the role:
Malvern College is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Catering Manager to support the delivery of high-quality catering services for both boarding and day students, alongside assisting with a variety of school events and hospitality functions.
As one of the UKs leading independent co-educational day and boarding schools for pupils aged 1318, Malvern College is set within the beautiful Malvern Hills in Worcestershire. This is an exciting opportunity to join a professional and dedicated catering team, helping to oversee the day-to-day catering operation while ensuring excellent service standards for students, staff, and visitors across the College community.
This role is essential in ensuring pupils, staff, and visitors receive high-quality, nutritious meals served with care, efficiency, and attention to detail.
You will be joining Holroyd Howe, one of the UKs leading contract caterers, providing fresh innovative food services solely to independent schools and colleges. We are a team of experienced professionals who tailor our catering service provision specifically to suit children of all ages in order to meet the bespoke requirements of each school.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Support the preparation, service, and presentation of food to a high standard
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen and service areas
Assist with food labelling, temperature checks, and allergen controls
Provide excellent customer service to pupils, staff, and visitors
Set up and clear service areas, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations
Follow all food safety, health & safety, and safeguarding procedures
Contribute to hospitality events and occasional out-of-hours functions
Accountability for following and championing allergen controls
Qualifications
Candidate Profile:
Ideally have experience working within contract, or high-volume catering
Possess a good Health & Safety knowledge
Flexible with a can-do attitude, customer-focused
Fun and enthusiastic
Have excellent organisation skills
Demonstrate great attention to detail
Be a team player and enjoy succeeding as a team
Possess great customer service skills
Have a flexible approach to work
