This role involves managing multiple categories with a proactive approach to consolidate, de-risk, and project manage. A customer-centric mindset is essential.
The successful Category Manager will have:
* Senior procurement experience, preferably in FMCG or high-volume components
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high SKUs
* Excellent Excel and data analysis skills
* Strong relationship-building skills with suppliers; some travel required
* Strategic category or project management experience in procurement
* Commercially minded and entrepreneurial
* Proficiency with systems
* Self-starter with independent thinking
* Ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively
Job Duties:
* Supplier management, including scoping, sizing, and risk management
* Building relationships with strategic suppliers
* Category planning and strategy development
* Executing annual category plans for profit improvement, savings, and consolidation
* Managing slow-moving stock and backlog reduction
* Price negotiations and tracking savings
* Identifying growth opportunities within categories
* Understanding product volumes and supply chain requirements
* Creating data sheets and tech packs for new products; overseeing quality control
