Overview
Aston Murray is recruiting a Group Financial Controller on behalf of a private equity–backed, rapidly growing, multi-site B2C services business based in Derby. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Group Financial Controller will play a critical role in scaling the finance function and supporting the business through an ambitious buy-and-build growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, manage, and develop the finance team
* Deliver timely, accurate consolidated monthly management accounts
* Produce and support board pack financial reporting and commentary
* Oversee cashflow, liquidity, and working capital management
* Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning
* Manage covenant reporting and lender relationships
* Drive improvements in financial systems, processes, and controls
* Strengthen the overall financial control environment
* Lead post-acquisition finance integration for new sites
* Manage relationships with external advisors (auditors, banks, tax advisors, etc.)
* Ensure compliance with all UK statutory and regulatory reporting requirements
Candidate Profile
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
* Proven experience leading and developing finance teams
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Strategic mindset with the ability to operate at both detail and board level
* Experience in a private equity–backed environment is desirable but not essential

Package
c. £100,000 base salary (dependent on experience) plus benefits.
