Child Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (CYWP)
Take an exciting step forward as a dedicated healthcare professional supporting children and young people up to 18 years old with complex emotional and behavioural challenges. You will work within the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital (RMCH), part of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT), managing a defined caseload and being responsible for the assessment, treatment and discharge of young people. Your role requires effective, sensitive communication with children, their carers, other health professionals and relevant agencies.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
* With current NMC, HCPC or SWE registration and a recognised qualification, you will bring a working knowledge of CAMHS, assess complex mental health needs, levels of risk (including safeguarding and self‑harm) and develop intervention plans in partnership with children, young people and their carers.
* You will undertake assessments, formulate plans for intervention in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, ensuring coordinated care across internal and external departments and achieving the best patient journey possible.
* Applying evidence‑based practice and NICE guidelines, you will offer therapeutic solutions consistent with best practice for young people’s mental health.
* Dedicated to fostering a patient‑centred environment, you will promote good working relationships within the team and support the overall wellbeing of the children under your care.
