Job Overview
We are offering a competitive salary and package to hire a detail-oriented and proactive Production Planner/Scheduler to join our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating production schedules, ensuring optimal use of resources, and maintaining high-quality standards. This position requires a strong understanding of supply chain processes and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to drive continuous improvement and ensure that customer expectations are consistently met.
Duties
* Develop and maintain production schedules that align with customer demand business forecasts.
* Accurately interpret customer requirements from data entered into the planning tools and create detailed production schedules.
* Schedule orders to maximise efficiency and meet sales forecasts ensuring timely production.
* Utilise ERP/MRP systems, to track production progress and manage materials effectively.
* Maintain production PPM schedules updating the system as required.
* Collaborate with various departments, including procurement, quality control, and assembly teams, to ensure seamless operations.
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement strategies that enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
* Monitor production performance metrics and adjust schedules as necessary to meet quality standards and delivery timelines.
* Maintain accurate records of production activities and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
* Manage customer capacity reservations and stock levels, ensuring effective communication regarding changes.
* Liaise with Transport Administrator to ensure on-time, in full (OTIF) deliveries.
* Provide support for the Transport Administrator during periods of absence
Requirements
* Proven experience in production scheduling or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong understanding of supply chain management principles and practices.
* Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (material planning, production scheduling tools) and strong IT skills, especially in Excel.
* Strong numeracy skills with the ability to analyse and utilise data for forecasting, capacity planning and demand management.
* Analytical problem solving skills to identify production bottlenecks, optimise flow and adjust schedules as needed.
* Demonstrated ability in continuous improvement methodologies and quality control processes.
