Company Overview First Steps Nursery Newquay is a provider of early childhood education. We are a busy, larger nursery offering places for our youngest babies through to 11 year olds as part of our holiday and wrap around schemes. We are committed to fostering a nurturing environment that supports the development and well-being of all children while working closely with families to ensure the best start in life. We are passionate about outdoor learning and have multiple outdoor areas as well as utilising the local area daily. We have recently had 2 new outdoor 'cabins' completed to further enhance our provision and increase the number of childcare places we can offer. Due to the popularity of the nursery, the increased number of spaces and funding for enhanced ratio for children with additional needs. We are currently recruiting for 4 additional members of staff. The nursery is open from 730 - 6 pm We are offering: - 16 hours per week 2.45 - 6 pm daily, all year round - 20 - 25 hours per week, afternoons daily, all year round - 25-30 hours per week, afternoons daily, all year round - 20 - 25 hours per week, mix of full days and afternoons, all year round There is the possibility of additional hours from January. We are looking for both qualified and unqualified staff.
Responsibilities
* Fulfill daily care routines and educational activities for children
* Foster a safe and inclusive environment that promotes learning and development for all children
* Support children in a kind, caring and considerate manner
* Fulfill administrative tasks related to child progress and safety records
* Facilitate effective communication with parents and team members
* Follow safeguarding policies and health & safety regulations
* For example, organise age-appropriate activities, monitor children's progress, and maintain a clean and welcoming setting
Qualifications
* Full relevant childcare qualification (e.g., Level 3 Early Years Educator or equivalent)
* Familiarity with early childhood education principles
* Fantastic communication skills in English
* Paediatric first aid and food safety certification is preferred
* Flexibility and a genuine passion for working with children are essential
