Consultant in Clinical Oncology (Breast)
Job Ref 279-RSCHCONONCBR-660 – Consultant clinical oncologist with an interest in breast, based in Brighton with clinics at Worthing Hospital. Must travel between sites.
The workload predominantly relates to outpatient clinical activity, with regular commitments to caring for general oncology inpatients, review of patients in the same‑day emergency care unit and participation on an out‑of‑hours oncology on‑call rota. The post requires clinical leadership, MDT attendance, active participation, medical student and registrar teaching, and offers clinical leadership and research opportunities.

* Radiotherapy planning
* Clinical trials leadership and delivery
* Acute oncology team leadership and clinical management
* Clinical admin generated from patients seen and liaison with other AHPs and primary care
* Clinical governance meetings
* Ward reviews when appropriate
Person specification
Clinical Skills and Experience
* Evidence of training in a broad spectrum of oncology tumour sites
* Understanding of clinical risk management
Experience / Qualifications
* MBBS, FRCR or appropriate specialist qualification, or its recognised equivalent.
* Full and specialist registration (with a licence to practise) with the GMC, or eligible for registration within six months of the interview. If trained in the UK, must also have a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Oncology or be within six months of receiving it by the interview date. If trained outside the UK, must provide evidence that your qualifications are equivalent to the UK CCT, confirmed by GMC by date of AAC.
