This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic and growing company, supporting the smooth running of production lines and ensuring that our operations are running at peak performance.Position Overview:As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will be responsible for providing both mechanical and electrical maintenance support across our manufacturing plant. You will play a key role in minimising downtime, improving efficiency, and ensuring all equipment operates at optimal levels. This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive approach to maintenance and troubleshooting, with the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the business.Key Responsibilities:Maintenance and Repairs: Perform both reactive and planned preventative maintenance on a variety of manufacturing equipment, including packaging lines, conveyors, and other machinery.Troubleshooting: Quickly identify faults and breakdowns in mechanical, electrical, and control systems, ensuring minimal disruption to production.Continuous Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement projects, focusing on reducing downtime, improving reliability, and enhancing overall equipment efficiency (OEE).Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.Documentation: Keep accurate records of all maintenance work, breakdowns, and inspections in line with company procedures.Collaboration: Work closely with production teams to understand maintenance requirements and prioritise work to ensure optimal production schedules are met.Skills Development: Stay up to date with the latest technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve your skillset and knowledge base.Key Skills and Experience:Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.Strong background in both mechanical and electrical engineering, with the ability to work on a wide range of equipment and systems.Experience with PLCs, control systems, and automated machinery is essential.Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks effectively.Understanding of health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.Ideally, a formal engineering qualification (e.g. HNC, HND, or equivalent) in electrical or mechanical engineering, or relevant experience.Desirable:Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced FMCG or production environment.Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.Knowledge of CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems).Why Join Us?Competitive salary and benefits package.Opportunity to work within a fast-paced, innovative FMCG business.Development and training opportunities to further your career in engineering.A collaborative and supportive working environment.A chance to be part of a growing company that values its employees and promotes internal growth.If you are a skilled engineer with the ability to work across both mechanical and electrical systems and are looking for a challenging and rewarding role, we would love to hear from you!
