The Role
As an Electrician, you will play a key role in the manufacture, wiring, and installation of bespoke control panels and automation systems. The role offers a mix of workshop-based work and site installations, with some travel and overnight stays required. This is an exciting opportunity to work on varied projects and be part of a growing business delivering high-quality automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manufacture bespoke control panels to electrical schematics and build standards
2. Install panels and wiring onto customer machines (in-house and at customer sites)
3. Investigate and rectify faults on control systems, with support where needed
4. Supervise and mentor junior team members to ensure safe and accurate work
5. Source and prepare materials to meet project schedules
6. Work to delivery dates and allocated build hours, including occasional overtime and weekend work
7. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
8. Suggest and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and performance
Skills & Experience Required
9. Proven experience in control panel building and machine wiring, ideally in automation or industrial machinery
10. Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
11. Practical fault-finding and rectification experience
12. Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds)
13. Organised, proactive, and deadline-focused
14. Willingness to work overtime, travel, and stay away overnight when required
15. Supervisory or mentoring experience desirable
16. Strong communication and teamwork skills
