An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Infant Feeding Team to appoint a Band 4 Infant Feeding Volunteer Peer Support Co-ordinator to promote and support the implementation of the Trust infant feeding peer support strategy. You will have specific responsibility for the development and co-ordination of volunteer infant feeding peer supporters within the hospital and community settings, supporting the development of a welcoming and compassionate volunteer infant feeding peer support programme with appropriate training and supervision for peer supporters, and helping the Trust to implement infant feeding policies and practice in line with UNICEF requirements and national and local breastfeeding targets.
You should be passionate and driven to make a difference. You will work as part of a team dedicated to improving breastfeeding initiation and continuation rates, supporting women, birthing people, families and Trust staff to develop their knowledge and ensuring that babies receive continuous good feeding support in both the Acute and community settings.
* Volunteer recruitment
* Supporting the transition and training of volunteers
* Co-ordinating the team of volunteers
* Providing ongoing support and supervision
* Ensuring volunteers are working within the Baby Friendly Standards
* Support with workshops to raise awareness and interest from local mothers and pregnant women about the importance of breastfeeding and the support that mothers need to breastfeed successfully
