A secondary school based in North Worcestershire is looking to appoint a permanent Business Manager to join their team. The role will ideallymence ASAP. The role will be Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm. Schools experience is essential.
Your new role
1. To provide professional leadership and management on all non-educational, operational aspects of the school with the primary purpose of supporting the achievements and oues of the children and young people.
2. In liaison with the Senior Executive Leads, to be responsible for the quality assurance andpliance with all financial reporting and returns to the ESFA and other external agencies.
SUPPORTING SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT
3. To ensure that resource planning and allocation is aligned with the strategic plan and identified priorities.
4. To develop and maintain effective relationships with the Department for Education, local authorities, Principals, and School Standardsmittees to support and facilitate school improvement
5. Work through SRMSA tools to optimise efficiency and resources to drive up standards
OPERATIONS:
6. Work with a range of professional advisers, service providers and staff to develop and deliver the strategic plan.
7. To provide strategic vision and leadership across all operational functions of the school.
8. Lead, manage and develop a high-quality, responsive, efficient and effective corporate support function
9. To develop quality central services provision to include ICT, Estates, HR and Catering, ensuring value for money.
FINANCE
10. Provide long-term strategic budget planning information, and, where necessary, rmendations to the SLT team on actions to meet the strategic plan
11. Support the Board of Directors, Accounting Officer and Principals in formulating and establishing a business plan and strategies that will ensure financial viability as well as efficient and effective operations.
12. Oversee the work of the Finance Team and engage with external auditors
13. Work with the Auditmittee to manage risk management strategy and procedures
14. Working with the Finance Team, ensure that all external monitoring and financial returns are submitted on time ( ESFA, DES, VAT, PAYE, NI, Teachers Pensions and LGPS)
15. Manage the effective purchasing and procurement of services for the school and negotiate, manage and monitor contracts, tenders and agreements for the provision of support services to include school improvement, HR/ payroll, facilities, ICT, Insurance, transport, catering and other advisory services
ESTATES, HEALTH AND SAFETY AND SECURITY MANAGEMENT
16. In consultation with the School Standardsmittee and the Board of Directors develop and deliver short- and long-term estates management plans for school.
17. Overseeing premises, including capital development plans, repairs and maintenance, ensuring the smooth running of any projects, liaising with contractors and maintenance staff
18. To oversee and coordinate full site audits and inspections, working with the Estates Team.
19. Review Health and Safety, Security and Fire Emergency policies and procedures, ensuring all relevant legislation is met
