Overview
The Children’s Therapies team in North West Kent offers exciting opportunities for dynamic and enthusiastic Band 5 Speech and Language Therapists. The service provides Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Care Coordination services to Children and Young People aged 0‑19.
The posts are suitable for NQPs and feature a rotational model, allowing 6‑9 months working within each specialist area of the service such as severe and complex needs, speech, DLD, AAC, etc. Some children are open to one discipline, but an integrated therapy approach is offered where the support of more than one discipline is needed.
A hybrid work pattern is offered, combining face‑to‑face and virtual working.
Responsibilities
* Help deliver ‘The Balanced System®’, working with schools and settings to provide Specialist, Targeted and Universal support for SLCN.
* Provide assessment (formal and informal as appropriate), plan and implement therapy interventions for groups and/or individuals in a range of settings.
* Modify interventions and programmes to meet the needs of individual children, young people and families.
* Deliver standardized training packages as part of a package of intervention.
* Work with key colleagues (e.g., Education and Health) to support multi‑agency models of service delivery.
* Participate in reflective practice and ongoing learning to continually improve the service offered by Children’s Therapies.
* Engage in regular patient feedback mechanisms and encourage service users to participate in shaping service delivery.
