Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Homelessness Support Worker to join a fantastic frontline service in Monmouthshire. This role is often the first point of contact for individuals experiencing crisis. You will provide immediate, trauma-informed support, practical assistance, and emotional reassurance, helping people stabilise their situation and access longer-term support.Key Responsibilities
* Provide timely first-response support to individuals in crisis
* Carry out needs and risk assessments and develop short-term support plans
* Offer practical and emotional support in line with trauma-informed practice
* Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies
* Maintain accurate records and case notes in line with policies and safeguarding requirements
* Promote dignity, respect, and empowerment at all times.
About You You will be empathetic, resilient, and calm under pressure, with a genuine passion for supporting people at difficult moments in their lives.Essential:
* Experience supporting vulnerable adults (e.g. homelessness, mental health, substance misuse, domestic abuse, or related fields)
* Ability to manage crisis situations professionally and sensitively
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Understanding of safeguarding and boundaries.
