We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Leader to join our residential childcare team. In this key leadership role, you’ll support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, provide direct care to young people, and guide and supervise a team of support staff. You’ll lead with confidence, particularly in the manager’s absence, helping ensure a safe, nurturing, and structured environment. Key Responsibilities * Support the Registered Manager in ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. * Safeguard and promote the welfare of young people, ensuring their individual needs are met. * Assist with the admissions process, creating a welcoming and supportive environment. * Support transition planning when young people leave the home. * Monitor and maintain care plans and documentation through robust auditing. * Conduct staff supervisions and appraisals, supporting professional development. * Participate in the management on-call rota as required. * Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service. Day-to-Day Duties * Lead shifts and ensure children are engaged, supported, and safe. * Collaborate with social workers, parents, schools, and other professionals. * Assist in rota planning to ensure appropriate skill mix and coverage. * Guide staff in accurate and timely reporting of incidents and safeguarding concerns. * Promote compliance with training and induction requirements. * Contribute to the development of the annual training plan. * Support health and safety standards in the home and grounds.
