: The opportunity: We have a fantastic opportunity for a Financial Controller to provide the financial leadership within the Central Reporting & Cost Base team as part of our Electronic Warfare (EW) Line of Business. The candidate would work directly for the VP Finance at the Luton site. Leading a small team, this role would be responsible for both the provision of accurate and timely management reporting information into a central Divisional and UK Finance team Alongside this, they would oversee the control of the Luton site cost base and calculation of costing and pricing rates for the whole of the site. The candidate would also have responsibility for ensuring compliance with internal and external financial Policies and currently adopted accounting standards. As an integral part of the functional management team, this role is a business accounting role and therefore financial leadership within the functions is crucial What you'll do as a Financial Controller - Central Reporting and Cost Base Full ownership, including overseeing creation, review and submission to central Divisional & UK Finance team of the consolidated Luton site & EW Management Accounts pack and Utilisation Reports on a monthly basis Full ownership, including overseeing creation, review and submission to central Divisional & UK Finance team of the consolidated Luton site & EW Integrated Business Plan (IBP) and other budgetary reports as required Timely response to ad-hoc queries, additional reports from Divisional / Central Finance as and when required Consolidation of additional project accounting team inputs for Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR), including Variance Analysis, Uncovered & Risks & Opportunities schedules Production of presentation packs to support all finance reviews, including QBR, IBP Trading Review & monthly EW SLT finance reviews Reconciliation of appropriate balance sheet accounts to confirm the accuracy of reporting data being used to produce the accounts Ownership and review of the monthly utilisation reporting process into the EW SLT and Division Ownership and review of the monthly cost base actual spend to date. Oversee the review of all the cost base expected spend, including headcount profile to ensure accurate year-end forecast. Ensure forecasts uploaded to SAP on a timely basis and reconcile back to forecast files Influence and provide objective challenge to functional VPs with the aim to control cost & deliver improved profit performance Annual calculation & compilation of MoD Qualifying Defence Contracts (QDC) Single Source rate book. Participation in audit of rate book by MoD Cost Engineers, including accurate and timely response to queries Oversee capital application approval process, ensuring all assets under construction are capitalised on a timely basis, useful economic lives are reviewed and fixed asset disposals are made when relevant Provide accurate information as to the levels of over or under recovery and make recommendations to the VP Finance as to future rate levels. Issue financial instruction for Hourly rates when appropriate Deputise for VP Finance EW with full delegated authority as required Continual process improvements implemented to make more efficient and effective use of resources. Lead the financial education of non-finance staff operating within Functional Areas, to ensure an appropriate level of financial awareness that leads sound financial decision-making Responsibility for effective business governance & compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards, Leonardo Directives and Leonardo Ltd Finance Policies Manual Responsible for the development of EW finance team under your control through coaching and education, ensuring policy adherence, process improvements and that skills / knowledge are developed What we need from you: Fully qualified accountant (part qualified may be considered). Excellent interpersonal & strong communication skills, with a challenging mind-set Ideally have experience in project / contract accounting Be proficient in MS Excel and preferably experience in SAP Proactive in approach Ability to re-prioritise to meet key deadlines Focus on high quality, accurate output and support You will be an enthusiastic individual, eager to do the job and excited about the projects / contracts you will be working with.
