A client within the public sector based in North Warwickshire is currently recruiting for a Planning Enforcement Officer to join their Development Control / Planning Enforcement Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority planning enforcement environment.The RoleKey purpose of the role:To support the Council's statutory duties in relation to planning enforcement under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and associated legislation, managing complex enforcement cases and contributing to service performance, quality standards, and customer-focused outcomes.Key Responsibilities Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Investigating alleged breaches of planning control and unauthorised development, taking ownership of complex enforcement cases from start to resolutionPreparing, issuing, and managing Planning Contravention Notices, Enforcement Notices, Requisitions for Information, and related documentationProcessing enforcement-related planning applications and monitoring compliance with planning conditions and Section 106 AgreementsPreparing written evidence and presenting expert testimony at appeals, hearings, public inquiries, and court proceedingsConducting interviews in accordance with the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 and liaising with the Council's Legal Services The CandidateTo be considered for this role you will require: A relevant qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)Significant experience working in a planning enforcement role within a local authorityA full, valid driving licence and access to transport for work purposes The below skills would be beneficial for the role: Strong knowledge of planning enforcement legislation and proceduresExperience presenting evidence at appeals, hearings, or court proceedingsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage a complex caseload independently and meet deadlinesExperience working collaboratively across internal departments The client is looking to move quickly with this role and is offering £40 per hour Umbrella LTD (Inside IR35) (approximately £30 per hour PAYE, depending on experience)How to ApplyIf this position sounds of interest, please email a copy of your up-to-date CV to: .uk or call Amelia at Service Care Construction on to discuss the vacancy in more detail.If this role is not of interest but you are looking for new opportunities, please still get in touch as we cover all construction-related vacancies across the region.Referral BonusIf this role is not suitable for yourself, but you know someone who may be interested, please pass on their details or forward this advert to them.
