A growing multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking a Senior Fire Engineer to join their expanding team.
This Senior Fire Engineer opportunity offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of projects across the built environment, supporting design projects both within and outside of the UK.
The Senior Fire Engineer will deliver technically focused work across a blend of office-based and site activities, alongside active client engagement.
The Senior Fire Engineer's Role
The Senior Fire Engineer will undertake a range of fire engineering duties, supporting projects from early-stage design through to more advanced phases. The Senior Fire Engineer will also contribute to the wider team, ensuring high-quality delivery across all assignments.
Key responsibilities include:
Producing fire strategy reports and associated technical documentation
Reviewing architectural drawings to identify fire strategy risks and opportunities
Carrying out means of escape analysis, including evacuation time calculations
Undertaking computational evacuation modelling analysis
Supporting fire engineering calculations, including smoke control, radiant heat, and evacuation scenarios
Communicating fire strategies clearly to clients and design teams via meetings, calls, and written reports
Conducting third-party reviews and design verification
Applying UK fire safety legislation and standards to live projectsThe Senior Fire Engineer
The ideal Senior Fire Engineer will combine strong technical capability with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset. The Senior Fire Engineer will be confident working both independently and collaboratively, with a clear passion for fire engineering.
Requirements include:
A degree in Fire Engineering or a related engineering discipline
A minimum of 4 years' experience within a Fire Engineering team
Working knowledge of regulatory controls and the ability to deliver fire-engineered design solutions
A solid understanding of ADB, BS 9999, and BS 9991
A proactive, self-motivated approach with strong attention to detail
A collaborative team player who shares knowledge and supports colleaguesIn Return?
